Circulation
Students have the opportunity to visit the library regularly to check out books. If a student needs to visit the library before his/her regularly scheduled visit, he/she should communicate the need to his/her classroom teacher in order to visit the library independently.
Community Patrons
Parents and guardians are welcome to check out books from the library. Ask for a community patron card the next time you are in the library.
Overdue Books
Students may check out materials from the library for 10 school days. When a book is out for more than 10 school days, it is considered overdue. Overdue notices are sent to the classrooms to remind students to return materials. We encourage students to take personal responsibility for their books. This is the first notice students will receive.
After a book has been overdue for 21 days or more, a note is sent home so you can help your student remember to return his/her book.
After a book has been overdue for 31 days or more, we send an e-mail or paper reminder to parents/guardians. We try to include a picture of the book cover to help in the search.
After a book has been overdue for more than 60 days the replacement cost is turned over to the school district and added to the student's Skyward fees.
Please note: we do not issue overdue fines.
