First grade students were introduced to the literary concept of sequencing (putting the events of a story in order) using the text, 10 Rules of Being a Superhero by Deb Pilutti. This was an engaging story because students had lots of physical movements to complete while I read the story aloud. At the conclusion of the story, students turned themselves into superheroes and sequenced three rules.
